Mika Morava

Mika is a writer, facilitator and movement artist based in Edinburgh.

She is currently co-organiser of Rehearsal Space, a gathering to practice liberated futures, launching this summer. She works as a journalist and culture writer, with placements everywhere from CNN to Scotland’s The Skinny. She is also a notes app poet.

Mika has trained with Julian Boal (Theatre of the Oppressed) and has experience in several physical theatre modalities, drawing heavily on the teachings of Jacques Lecoq, Tadashi Suzuki and Anne Bogart. She is also practiced in and inspired by the experimental theatre aesthetic of Neo-Futurism.

Mika is constantly seeking opportunities to practice movement—not only as an interaction of body and space, but also as a collective gesturing toward liberation. Theatre for Mika is always movement theatre, in both senses of the word.
